IOQM.in standards
Editorial Policy
How IOQM.in researches, writes, reviews and updates news for students, parents, schools and Mathematics Olympiad educators.
What we publish
Time-sensitive updates
Registration, hall-ticket, examination, answer-key, result and selection developments that materially affect candidates.
Useful explainers
Plain-language context that helps parents and students understand an official announcement, deadline or next step.
Evidence-led analysis
Original comparisons or calculations are labelled as analysis and kept separate from official facts.
No filler publishing
We do not manufacture daily “PR” stories. A new article needs a real update or a distinct question that helps readers.
Verification standard
- We prefer primary sources: MTA(I), the official IOQM portal, HBCSE/TIFR, NBHM and other directly responsible bodies.
- For breaking or high-impact news, the editor checks the claim against two official pages or documents where available. If only one body can authoritatively confirm a detail, the article says so.
- Dates, fees, eligibility rules, result status and selection criteria are not guessed. Unconfirmed information is labelled clearly.
- Every news article carries a publication or review date and links to the supporting sources.
- Headlines must match the evidence. We avoid clickbait, false urgency and unsupported “expected” dates.
Writing, review and attribution
Bylines and ownership
News is published by the IOQM.in Editorial Desk or a named contributor. Publisher information is available on our About IOQM.in page.
Human editorial review
Research or drafting tools may assist production, but a responsible editor must check the claims, links, dates and disclosures before publication.
Source transparency
We link readers to the exact official page or document used. A source that supports only part of a story is not presented as proof of every claim.
Updates and corrections
Material new facts are added with an updated timestamp. Significant errors are corrected under our Corrections Policy.
Commercial independence
IOQM.in is part of Mathiit, which offers paid Olympiad courses and mock tests. Articles may link to those services when relevant. Such links do not make Mathiit an official examination authority, and promotional calls to action must be distinguishable from editorial reporting. We do not sell favourable news coverage or allow a commercial goal to change a verified examination fact.
Question our work
If a statement appears inaccurate, unsupported or commercially unclear, please send the page URL and the evidence through our contact page. We review substantive concerns against the underlying source.
