IOQM Cutoff: State-wise and Previous Year Cutoffs

Check IOQM cutoff state-wise and region-wise for 2025, 2024 and 2023. The tables below keep RMO-selection cutoffs separate from Regional and National Certificate cutoffs, so students and parents can read the right figure without confusion.

Latest IOQM cutoff at a glance

The latest complete official record in this archive is IOQM 2025. Cutoffs were different for each official region and category. The 2025 decisions used normalized scores; students who wrote Leg 2 on 28 September had their scores multiplied by 1.5. Use the region row in the 2025 table to find the applicable Category A, Category B, Girls and Regional Certificate cutoffs.

MENTOR PERSPECTIVE

“A cutoff tells you where selection ended last year—not where your ambition should end. Prepare to understand mathematics deeply, and results will follow.”

Important comparison note: Cutoffs from different years are not perfectly comparable. Paper difficulty, participation, selection quotas, region boundaries, certificate rules and normalization can change. A cutoff is a selection threshold for that examination cycle, not a fixed “passing mark” for every year.

IOQM 2025 state-wise and region-wise cutoff

These are the final MTA(I) figures. Category A covers the applicable Classes 8–11 group; Category B covers Class 12; Girls is the additional girls’ quota within Category A. “NA” is retained only where the official document itself uses NA.

IOQM 2024 revised cutoff

The RMO-selection values below are the revised cutoffs issued on 21 October 2024 after students from probationary centres were removed from the calculation. They replace the earlier provisional list. The Regional Certificate figures were announced separately in November 2024 and are shown in their own column.

The abbreviated labels above are retained from the official 2024 revised document. The asterisk and exceptional-region note are also part of that source; students in NCR, Mumbai, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, or OCI/overseas cases were advised to verify their allotted region from the official selection list.

IOQM 2023 region-wise cutoff

The 2023 table contains RMO-selection cutoffs only. The official PDF did not publish a separate Regional Certificate column: the HBCSE/MTA(I) criterion stated that a student scoring at least 10% of the total IOQM 2023 marks would receive an IOQM certificate. Blank official cells are shown as “Not officially published”; they are not treated as zero.

How to read the IOQM cutoff tables

Category A cutoff

The RMO qualification cutoff for the official Classes 8–11 group, or the equivalent Category A definition used for that year.

Category B cutoff

The RMO qualification cutoff for Class 12, or the equivalent official Category B definition. There is no separate girls’ quota within Category B.

Girls cutoff

An additional girls’ quota cutoff applicable to Category A. A blank or NA value does not mean the cutoff was zero.

Regional and National Certificate cutoffs

Certificate cutoffs determine certificate eligibility; they do not automatically determine RMO selection. The two data types should always be checked separately.

Frequently asked questions

Is the IOQM cutoff the same in every state?

No. RMO-selection and Regional Certificate cutoffs are generally calculated for official regions. Some regions combine states or union territories, and their boundaries or names may change between years.

Are IOQM qualifying marks and the RMO cutoff the same?

Not necessarily. A minimum qualifying condition may make a student eligible to be considered, while the actual RMO-selection cutoff depends on the regional and category quota.

Was the IOQM 2025 score normalized?

Yes. The official document states that cutoffs were counted against normalized scores and that Leg 2 scores were multiplied by 1.5.

Why are some 2023 values shown as “Not officially published”?

The official 2023 table left those cells blank. This archive does not estimate missing figures or replace them with zero.

How many marks should I target?

Historical cutoffs are useful reference points, not guarantees. A safer target is comfortably above your region’s recent Category A or B cutoff, while accounting for changes in paper difficulty and selection rules.
